Highgate Cemetery

A few photographs from back in the summer of 2014 and what may still become a project documenting London’s cemeteries. For many a visit is made to the cemetery to pay tribute at the tomb of Karl Marx, yet that corner of the cemetery includes many dissidents, socialists and refugees that found a home in London free from oppression in other countries. And as you make you’re way around you can see a wonderful collection of monuments to artists, musicians, politicians and to those who many will ever know about, but have a lasting memorial in this small corner of North London.
